Project “X”, ( STG-47 ), was inspired by WWII German small arms designs, which are still some of the most radical firearms designs ever created. We have fused together shapes from the MG42 machine gun, and the FG42, “fallschirmjägergewehr” (paratrooper rifle), and adapted it for use with the AK 47. The butt and pistol grip are MG42 inspired. The butt stock is a slightly scaled down laser scanned MG42 butt, stretched to achieve proper length of pull. The grip was reverse engineered from an actual MG42 trigger group, and has many identical dimensions and features.

STG-47 Model Features:

• MG-42 type butt stock, with prone position finger hook, slotted butt end, ( no butt plate or pad option ).

Length, 10 1/4” from receiver to vertical but end sfc. ( this is 1 inch longer than a std. factory AK butt stock ).

• MG-42 identical shape pistol grip, with side panel ribbing. Mounts with std. AK grip screw, measured 4” below

screw head. Very ergonomic shape, measure approx. 1 1/8” thick. One size available only.

• FG-42 type lower hand guard. Straight walled, ribbed, with rear “hump”. Very comfortable, and very “grippy”.

Top rails of guard chamfered for a bit more finger tip grasp. Lower is approx. 1.65” in width.

• FG-42 inspired upper gas tube hand guard. Vertical side wall ribbing, and top vent slots. Also a straight walled

design. Mounts like any std. AK upper hand guard, and is cut to accept the internal spring clip.

• Sets are available finished only. We do a hand finished 5-6 coat oil finish, topped off with a #0000 steel

wool buffing, and then a coat of orange oil/carnuba wax.

• All parts will be test fitted to an appropriate receiver, however butt stock mtg. holes will not be drilled as these

specs do vary from AK to AK.

• Due to the extra machining steps and set-ups, and detail finish sanding, these sets will require a 4-6 week

turnaround time.

• Walnut and Beech wood will be the two wood types offered initially. Higher grade Walnuts can be ordered at

with a range of $70-195 for various grades. You can e-mail us for those details at time of order.

Hand guards were inspired from a production run of FG 42 hand guards

that we did for a company manufacturing a US made semi-auto FG42.

The original FG42 hand guard was a one piece unit, so we sort of split

the concept in two. Ribbed grip areas were reproduced, as well as the

straight walled main body of the lower. We modified slightly the rear FG

hump, for comfort, and added ribbed side-walls and top vent slots to

continue the FG attributes.

This is our first true custom set that we have developed quite some

time. It has classic looks, and fits the hand and shoulder correctly. We

like to think of it as functional art. This truly a unique twist for the AK-47.

Hardware required:

Qty #2 std. butt stock mounting screws

Qty #1 std. pistol grip mounting screw ( screw should measure 4” below head )

Qty #1 upper hand guard internal spring steel clip ( if you already have a wood upper, then you should have one )

We politely request that no custom requests be made for this set.

Eventually, we may make a shorter butt stock, but for now, it can only be ordered with the length spec as listed above. This set took a lot of time to develop, and we do not want to do it all over again.
