Information regarding the PAP Serbian/Yugoslavian M70 and other PAP variants

Most PAP model AKs have an angle cut receiver. This is done to enable the mounting of the factory plastic thumbhole

stock, as most are furnished with. This angle cut basically removes the bottom section of the Yugo stock trunnion.

Because of this missing material, the once rounded rectangular pocket, where the butt stock nose or knuckle would

insert in to, now has no lower support for the front of the traditional M70 butt stock.

There is no adaptor, nor can one be made to remedy this issue. The only real way to return the PAP angle cut

receiver to it’s original form, would be to weld in the missing metal, to recreate the original rounded rectangular pocket.

These pics should explain visually what is explained in this section.

Basically, you can still mount one of our std. M70 butt stocks, but there will be no support for the bottom front of the

stock. This means that potential, there will be as much play in the stock, as there is in the mounting bolt and

the hole running through the stock.

There is no sense in making a custom cut M70 stock, to fill in the angled section, as it will not enhance the mounting

integrity.

If you have a straight cut PAP, then there are no issues, as a std. M70 stock will fit no problem.
