Sets listed on this page fit Chinese straight cut stamped receiver AK-47s.

Including the following models:

  1. • MAK90, Polytech, & NHM models

  2. • If you have a post ban sporter thumbhole MAK model, you should remove

  the thumbhole stock to verify if your receiver is straight cut.

The Ironwood Designs T56 set is faithful to the original Chinese

design stock set. Butt stock: correct length, at 9 1/4”, as arrow

indicates, and has correct location bottom swivel cut. It is cut to

accept an original AK military trapdoor butt plate. We do not sell

or provide butt plates.


Pistol grip: correct T56 pattern, with checkering. Some T56

original grips did not have checkering. Please specify, when you

order, if you do not want checkering. Grip comes with ferrule cap

and mtg. screw bushing, as shown. Must be used with grip screw

measuring 4” below the screw head.


Upper hand guard: correct T56 pattern, with no vent slots.

Lower hand guard: also correct T56 pattern, and accepts original

rear ferrule cap. We do not sell or provide lower rear ferrule cap.

Cleaning rod hole is only drilled upon request. (no charge).


The set is sold as shown. The only 2 options available are for

a recoil pad, and for the bayonet slot. Part #s and prices for

these options posted below, underneath the set part# & price.


All sets sold unfinished, clean sanded to 150 grit.

Pre-cut sets are available in Hardwood Birch (BI), and a limited quantity in Walnut (W). Pre-cut sets still require final prep before shipping.

All other wood type requests are cut to order, and subject to longer delivery times, ( approx. 3-4 weeks ).

FINISHING TIP: If you want to achieve the orange like finish found on many Chinese AKs, like the finish shown on the top of this page,

a 4 coat application of an off the shelf Amber Shellac, applied to a hardwood Birch set, will do the job.

If you want us the finish it, use PART# T56-ORANGE ( hardwood Birch sets only )   Price $50-  Allow an extra 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Available wood types for this set include, Birch Laminate (LAM), Beech (BE), Hardwood Birch (BI), Maple (MA), and Walnut (W).

Typically we stock pre-cut parts in Birch Laminate, so turnaround time is usually faster. Walnut sets are always cut to order, to ensure they

come from the same blank. The other listed hardwoods vary in pre-cut supply, and can also be cut-to-order.

The Ironwood Designs AKM set is faithful to the original

Soviet stock set, but is cut to fit Chinese AKs.

Butt stock: extended length, at 9 3/4”, as arrow indicates, and

has correct location side swivel cut. It is cut to accept an original

AK military trapdoor butt plate. We do not sell or provide butt

plates.


Pistol grip: correct AKM pattern. Optional cut for AKM ferrule cap

a no charge option. We do not sell or provide AKM grip caps.

Grip screw counterbore is drilled deeper to fit shorter mtg. screws

found on thumbhole sporter MAK 90 stocks. If using a std. grip screw, (measures 4” below head). please specify.


Upper hand guard: correct AKM pattern, with vent slots.

Lower hand guard: correct AKM bulged pattern.
